Macdonald Hotels & Resorts moves its online purchasing to iTradeNetwork

Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, one of the UK's leading hotel groups, has signed a two-year deal with iTradeNetwork (ITN) that will see the company radically improve its online purchasing across its estate of 47 hotels.
Through ITN's internet-based IT solution - the 'Multiple Operator Portal' - Macdonald Hotels & Resorts will benefit from better reporting functionality at head office level, increased visibility of supplier transactions across the business and cost-efficiencies, all leading to greater profitability. Enzo Bertolone, purchasing manager for Macdonald Hotels & Resorts said: "Purchasing in the hotel trade can be complex, particularly when you have 47 hotels placing orders at a local level. Our existing purchasing solution had become inflexible. As a company, we sought a more holistic view of the group's purchasing and a solution that enabled us to manage supplier orders and contracts, as well as drive down costs. ITN's Multiple Operator Portal offers all of this and more. The improved ordering and reporting suite functions are particularly key for our business.
"Our new online purchasing solution was up and running and rolled out across the group within only five weeks, a really impressive turnaround from ITN. Within that time, ITN set up connections to 14 new suppliers and created 290 user logins onto our dedicated portal, a huge achievement. We expect to place over 70,000 orders per annum and will achieve improved business efficiency across the group."
